I'm so proud of you..

Jaylie is such a little talker. She can say anything and everything. This is a good and bad thing! I love having conversations with her and she is hilarious sometimes. I thought it would be good to document some of the things she had said over the summer.

Almost every day, Jaylie grabs my face with those little hands and says," I so proud of you Mommy!" It is the sweetest thing. It makes me feel good that she proud of me on days I'm not proud of myself:)

Our summer has consisted of a lot of talk about the potty and Jaylie will have nothing to do with it. She is scared of it. She has a cute little potty but she told me," Mommy, I not gone do it."
Every time I bring it up or talk about it, this is what she says. We have made a deal with her...I know, negotiating with a 2 year old is probably not good but we told her she can to Chucky Cheese when she uses the potty. She loves Chucky cheese.
This has really been on her mind and she told us one night, after she was refusing everything," I not gone be a bath. I not gone poop in the potty but I am go to Chucky Cheese!"

Jaylie is very friendly to everyone. In fact, if you are a child and you talk to her anywhere, Jaylie calls you her best friend. I think it is so sweet. She just loves people! Now, she is not against telling anybody what she thinks but she loves them.

She loves to sing. We have the kids bop CD and Uptown Funk is on there. Yall that is her jam!! It is all she wants to listen to in the car. She can, legit, quote the chorus. Our version we listen to is clean. It says hot yeah!
She also sings, in her little talk: Twankle,Twankle yittle star
How my wonder what chu arrreee. Bup above the wourld so high, yike a diamond in the sky, Twankle, Twankle Yittle star, how my wonder what chu are!!
We sing a lot of church songs too and she knows all the words.

Pock- cot

Jaylie is in such a fun stage right now. She says anything now and is fun to play with.
She calls a pocket a " pockcot". It is so funny- especially during church when the preacher is preaching the word and Jaylie is turned around counting all the " pockcots" out loud in the room.

She calls herself Jaysee Beca Ham. I love her pronunciation of her name and I am with her on shortening our last name.

She has always eaten really well until the last few months. She rarely eats much at home now. I think she is eating all she can at daycare. She loves goldfish at daycare but has a meltdown if I mention them at home. She loves her Uncle Steve's hotdogs and corn. She asks for corn for breakfast.

You know how I said she can say anything? Yeah, sometimes that is not great. Not that I say anything bad- I really don't. But apparently I do say, " Oh God.." Because Jaylie dropped something and looked around and said that. I felt really bad and got a lecture from Ganmama. Trust me- I don't like saying that but I honestly don't remember. But Jaylie remembered and now she knows that we don't say it. Nothing like kids to keep you accountable.

Another thing I love about Jaylie is how she loves to pray. She wants to pray multiple times at the dinner table and at night. She folds her little hands and says, "Mommy, pay!" It literally makes me tear up thinking about how sweet she is and how she knows that we pray to God and love him. She loves to sing church songs- like he gots the " whole wrrrlld in his hannndds" in Jaylie talk. Most Sundays she is great in church and stays out in there the whole time. If I take her out, I bring her back because I want her to learn to sit in church. She does well and keeps everyone quietly entertained.

It's funny how kids decide what they are going to call their people. Jaylie calls my Daddy, Gaddy, which I love. She calls Mother, Moma. It is close to Ganmama and she calls me Mommy and her Moma. There is a difference when she calls us. She calls David, Poppy and Christy, MiMi.
One of the funniest names she talks about is my Uncle Edward and Aunt Annie. One day after church, we were at partners eating and Jaylie looked at Aunt Annie and said, " Where's Ed?" Hilarious that she calls him Ed. But it is cute!

She really isn't a baby anymore and I miss that. I love how funny and independent she is but I miss that sweet baby.

Catch up...

The previous post was done in July and posted today- go figure. I've been MIA from the blogging world for a while. Maybe it's because I'm working, taking care of my family and going to grad school. Wowza! It's been crazy..lots of crying, sleepless nights and more crying.

Anyway, I thought I would do a phone dump of pictures of Jaylie.
This is on her birthday! We played outside all day that it wasn't raining.
I had to keep the gate around the tv for a while because she kept touching everything. I moved it and she still touches everything but I give up...
Jaylie loves the pool for about 15 minutes at a time and then she wants out. But she loves her some uncle Josh.
Look at that hair! Yes, I'm that mom that does funny stuff with the child's hair and then takes pictures.
Oh this picture!! Let me tell you what happened. We were all swimming at my house and Jaylie got tired so she took her in the house. About 10 minutes later, Scruff runs outside, as if he is telling me to come, and I hear screaming..from Jaylie and Ganmama. I run in to see and Jaylie fell in my room and cut the inside of her mouth on the bed. Blood is everywhere and it looked so bad. So of course, I run her to CARES where nothing is done about it....but she was fine after 3 hours.
First day of daycare!!
I prop her stroller up like this when we are eating somewhere and she falls asleep.
She always sits with her legs crossed!!
She came to school to do some work with me. Before we all know it, she will be sitting in that desk. That makes me shed a tear...
At Elynns birthday party, Jaylie and Addie liked hanging with the dogs or helping fill up the tank.....
She loves wearing glasses. We took the lens out of some old reading glasses and she looks so cute in them.

Loves riding on anything with her daddy.
Y'all.. Where did my baby go? When I first saw this picture- I did a double take because she looks so growny.

Well, I'm not making any promises that I cannot keep so I'm might  be back on here before Christmas or maybe next year!

Beach Trip

We went to the beach with our friends- J- Mac and KL. we had a great time and keeping the babies contained wasn't as hard as we thought.
Seersucker is too much...so cute!
She was scared of the ocean the first 2 days on the beach. She wanted no part of it.
The beach wore them out the first day. But we paid for it that night when it was 11 before they went to sleep.
She would steal your chair when you weren't looking.
Waiting to eat at Boondocks
Selfie with my girl...
She would take the best naps on the beach. It would start of like this and before long....

It was this.
They slept for almost 2 1/2 hours.
Curly Sue- her hair curls when it is wet. It is sweet.
This is her Ace Ventura look. It sticks out like that. But check out her Pineapple willy shirt. I think it is so cute.

More beach pictures to come!

It's a start

I ran my first 5K today. I am very proud that I went through with it and didn't give up. Now, I wasn't first or last, I just wanted to finish. I want to keep it up and run  more  and  improve my time. But it was definitely a start!!

7 months

Apparently, when you turn 7 months- things get serious!!!

Jaylie turned 7 months and then we had the surprise snow. It took me 3 hours to get to her in Lineville. Jaylie and I stayed with Mom and Dad while Jay and Joshua were stuck in Oxford.
I got the dreaded virus on that Tuesday night. I was so so sick. I couldn't hold me head up without moaning. I wanted to go the hospital but finally by Thursday morning was better.
Jay and Josh made it to Mom and Dads Wednesday and Thursday we got our first picture in the snow.

Look at all this blonde hair. I am in awe of how God works. I always thought I would have a brown eyed and dark haired baby; but I love love her blonde hair and bike eyes. I just stare at her. God knows what we need. Always:)

This is how we spent her first Valentines: puffs, burger quick and tv.
She loved her balloon.
Rocking her camo bib and flower.
